Brimsdown Rovers Football Club
Founded 1947

The Downs have a history of its own before becoming part of Brimsdown Rovers Football Club.

The Downs were the sports ground of local company Johnson Matthey were Enfield had a strong industrial base and many companies in the area had there own sports facilities for there workers close to the location of there factories.

Other in the area included, Bellings, Thorn's, Rippults and Western's all are now gone from the landscape with The Down the only one of these still being used for football.

J&M Sports Football Club used the ground from there foundation in 1970 up until they folded in 1992.

J&M Sports started their football in the Enfield Alliance League before moving to the Waltham & District league and then onto the Northern Suburban League and finally the Herts County League.

They had a proud football history in there short time,
