Well how do I start, thing have been a bit busy of late and so the Newsletter Business has been on hold, thinking about it so has the web-site.

BUT with a bit of luck I should be able to get things back on track over the next few weeks, that before I have to move out of my flat as the landlord want to sell, not sure where I am moving to but I will let you all know when it happens.

Colin lives in Kings Lynn and is Married to Tracy, they have two children Peter and David. Colin is the second son of John and Phyllis Brassett, he has an older brother Steven and a younger brother Ian and a sister Diane.

Colin is a qualified Football Referee (we all have something to hide) and is now working within the field of Cricket as a coach

Mark Brassett 12^th 1992

Mark is the son of Steven brother of Colin above and Ally who they also live in Kings Lynn, Mark being only nine this month is still at school.

Stephen Brassett 22^nd 1962

Steve in the oldest son of John and Phyllis and lives in Kings Lynn with Ally and his young son Mark who also has his birthday this month, Steve also has a daughter Louise. He is a reasonable footballer playing on a Saturday and Sunday.

Paul Gregory Cade 12^th 1972

Paul is the second son of Diane and Lex and is married to Melanie Jane Raggett b 17-09-1972 they live in New Zealand

The tree is now looking in good order but we have still got three strands and no clear connection at present. Somewhere back in the late 1800's and early 1700's there is a connection I am sure it must be there somewhere.

Sylvia has been working hard over the past months running back and forth between libraries and records offices trying to put things together.

I would like to thank her for the works she has done it has been of great help to me and she seem to be able to connect everyone up as soon as they appear.

We have had some more connection since the last newsletter with Sylvia working had to put them into their right place in the family tree this was from Mick Brassett in Cornwall

I have just logged on to the Brassett Web and have been reading bits of it.

As you will be aware I too am a Brassett, Home for me is Cornwall where I was born, I live in Wath-upon-Dearne with my second wife Joan. But most of the year we live and work away in the State of Kuwait. I work here as a QA Inspector on Aircraft for the Kuwait Airforce, while Joan is a Librarian at a local school.

If you get back to me I will fill you in on our Brassett family, my dad Lennard Thomas Brassett was 80 earlier this month, he lives in Liskeard in Cornwall.

I know David Brassett who is with BAe in Saudia, we worked together in the RAF many years

My Grandfathers came from West Brompton

Great Great Grandfather John Brassett born 1849 - died 1931

Great Grandfather William Brassett born 1874 - died 1947

( I was born in 1945 and had my photo taken with him just before he died - 4 generations of Brassett's all first born in each family)

Granddad Brassett Thomas William Brassett born 29/9/1898 died 21/5/1982 born at 83 Ifield Road, West Brompton London, probably the above all lived in that house to at one stage.

He married and lived most of his life at Molborough Road Hillingdon where he and Dolly (nee Isles) had 3 sons and 2 daughters.

There was two brothers Authur Brassett and Bert Brassett (Albert or Herbert) I can remember as a lad being taken to see these uncles who lived I think in Middlesex.

My father is Lennard Thomas Brassett who I believe was born in West Brompton on 02/10/1921 he was 80 earlier this month and lives in Liskeard Cornwall. He joined the Navy during the war and served until 1946. Married my mother Winifred Doris Wills and settled in Liskeard.

My full mane is Michael Eric Brassett and I was born in Liskeard on 24/4/1945 - lived in Liskeard until 1968 when I joined the Air Force and have never settled anywhere for long. I am currently working in Kuwait.

I have 3 sons

David John Brassett born Liskeard 4/9/1967

Ian Michael Brassett born Barnstaple 27/4/1969

Nicholas Mark Anthony Brassett born Barnstaple 7/7/1971

My fist son has two children Mark and Laura 10 and 8 they all live in Plymouth.

Second son has one boy Jamie who is 4 who live in Rossington South Yorkshire

Third son has two boys, Reece and Mason 5 and 3 who live in Doncatser South Yorkshire

So now you have a little of my family if you can fit them into the tree, I can give you more detail if you want as this is enough to be going on with.

We have also been in contact with some more Brassett's in the USA and Canada

First born child Janet Peggy, born 14 April 1947 at Brocket Hall Hatfied
England now residing in Ontario Canada.

As you may have seen on the web-site notice board my small section of the family got together on Sat 3^rd November at Doug and Coral were on a short visit from Down Under.

A good time was had by all and there are photo's doing the circuit of the night. I also understand there is a video in circulation with some drunken singing on it.

Paul, Roger and Trevor Brassett who we recently made connection with paid us a visit and we plan to get together some time in the near future.

We have established that our families are connected some 6 generations ago and even through we have not been in connection we only live within a small area of North London. we are going to keep in contact in future as we are close cousins.

HISTORY

I have stuff on the section that comes from Bucks and some history on Chetwode, Fringford and Preston Bissett, with Maps and Photo's. Does anyone have the same sort of thing for the East London and Essex sections in the UK and other sections around the world.

We have now had nearly 250 hit on the web-site and it is still only in its construction stages, the notice board look to be a hit with messages coming in from all around the world.

GRAPHS and PLANS

Andrew has a copy of the family tree spreadsheet, something should come up soon , but he and Catherine are off on their travels soon so don't hold your breath for to long.

To get more things going further I want to put profiles on everyone on the site, to kick things off how about everyone doing a small profile on themselves around 30-50 words and have any of you got photo's that we can put with them.

I Think it would be good to see what we all look like, so if you have anything email it to me as a JPEG file and ill sort out about getting it on the site for everyone to see.

Sylvia is away once again, Doug and carol are back in OZ after the short trip to Europe, Joanne is back at work earning money before her next trip.

Catherine and Andrew are off round the world Catherine's world Columbia for 1 week, Miami for 1 week, Denver for 1 week and Toronto for 1 week.

Me moving down the road before Christmas if things work out ok.

Please try to put some profiles together and send them to me and don't forget the photo's make sure you let me know who they are so we don't get things mixed up.
